An on-site repair where the visible overheating symptom was traced back to an engine crankshaft-seal oil leak contaminating the radiator.
The generator had an oil leak at the crankshaft seal. Oil from the leak was blown into the radiator, contaminating and restricting it. As cooling performance deteriorated, the generator began overheating.
GenTech SA stripped and cleaned the generator as required, replaced the crankshaft seal and thermostat, cleaned the radiator, refilled the cooling system with new antifreeze/coolant and reassembled the generator after the repairs were completed.
